National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2017-2018

         The National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) is a national level prestigious competitive examination to identify and grant scholarships to talented students of Class X or equivalent and nurture and support them to continue their education and pursue their dreams. National Council for Educational Research & Training has been conducting the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) since 1963.The qualified students are rewarded with monthly scholarships that would get them through any financial problems obstructing their education upto post graduation level.Only 1000 students each year are awarded with the monthly scholarship of Rs 500/- onwards.The scholarships under the present scheme are awarded to the candidates for pursuing courses in sciences, social sciences and commerce up to doctoral level and in professional courses like medicine,engineering,management and law up to second-degree level.They must have an aggregate of 60% or more in their qualifying examination.Languages and Course for Humanities are not considered for scholarships

         Conducting such a national level examination has another purpose of calculating talents in the nation which can help the country develop higher standards in the academics category at the international level.There is no specific syllabus for NTSE, but it has been following CBSE standard equivalent to 8th Standard and some topics for mathematics from 9th standard.The candidates should have good knowledge in everything they learned in the previous standards. But in some states, questions from higher classes are also included.

        The test comprises of questions brilliantly developed that only the best brain can solve.The NTSE exam was recently modified with subjective and objective questions.The question paper has questions from Mathematics,Science and Social Science.Selection for scholarship is based on the ranks of candidates.40% marks and more are required for qualification.The candidates are subjected to two objective type written tests,Mental Ability Test and the Scholastic Aptitude Test.Those candidate qualify these two tests are subjected to face-to-face interview.
